Mural Dedication at the Lake Claire Community Land Trust

Went to an event at the Land Trust this afternoon to celebrate the completion and dedication of the Mural on DeKalb Ave., just on the other side of the Land Trust from our house.

Pretty day with some pretty good music . . . and lots of peace, love and general hippiness.

The Final Four in Atlanta

The best month of sports comes to an end this year in Atlanta, with Ohio State, Florida, UCLA and Georgetown battling over the weekend to see who will be National Champion. I had already moved to Indianapolis in 2002 when the last Final Four came to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, so this one is extra sweet. Unfortunately, one of our teams, UNC just missed the trip to Atlanta, losing to Georgetown in overtime in the East Regional Finals last weekend.

We were really fortunate with the volunteer assignments that we received from Georgia Tech (host institution). We were "microphone holders" for all of the post-game and off-day player/coach press conferences. This allowed us to watch most all of every game and still have time to get back to the interview room before the end of the 15-minute "cooling off" period after every game.
