Easter 2008

Emma's first Easter included a great Egg Hunt at church and a floppy bunny in her basket.

About 100 kids came to the Easter Egg Hunt and it was a perfect spring day for it!

Jessica, Walker, Shannon & Emma. Jessica and Shannon have already planned prom for Walker & Emma for the year 2015!

Big girls, Merci and Olivia!

Pals, Naomi and Caitlyn, came with their moms, Lonna and Julie.

Though she didn't actually hunt for eggs, Emma had a great time playing in the toddler ball-pool with her pals from school -- Graham and Little Charlie.

Emma with her daddy, Patrick, and her classmate, Graham, with his daddy, Mike. Emma had so much fun she couldn't stay awake!

St Patrick's Day

Our big excitements on St. Patrick's Day were a phone call from Bridget Haber who is doing very well after her surgery and seeing Emma's two teeth that emerged a few days ago! She doesn't let us look at them very much because she'd rather try to lick our fingers. : )

ACC Championship in Charlotte

We all had a great time during the ACC tournament in Charlotte. Emma stayed with her Nana & Papa John while Patrick & Shannon went to the games. Emma did go to the final on Sunday and we think that she was the good luck charm that brought the championship for the Tar Heels!

At home

I love my toys. These days, I just like to look at, touch, and TASTE everything!

I'm a bit messy, but I really like this eating thing!

Getting ready for March Madness

Mommie still won't let Emma watch TV, but she'll certainly allow a pose in her Tar Heel garb next to Tyler who was just about to dunk! We're going to the ACC tournament in Charlotte next month and we'll see how many games Emma gets to attend.

Visit from Aunt Marjie & Nana

Aunt Marjie & Nana spent a couple of nights with us and, of course, loved all over Emma. We don't think they ever put her down!

Emma suited up in her North Carolina t-shirt (thank you, Mr. Stan!) for the game, but was too sleepy to make it to the end. Thank goodness it wasn't a close game!

It wasn't me

Aunt Marjie & Uncle Bob gave me this shirt for Christmas. I'm not sure what it means, but Mommie & Daddy think it's funny.

Trying not to watch TV?

Mommie has this thing about me not watching TV until I'm at least one (she said something about this thing called 'research'). But, she and Daddy watch so much that it's going to be very, very hard to achieve that goal! Today, Daddy put me in the corner of the sofa facing away from the tube. We'll see how long that strategy works....

SNOW!!!

There were two days with a little snow this week. In general, Emma does not like being cold but she seemed pretty fascinated with the wet stuff falling on her face. Since she loves to try to lick EVERYTHING, it was funny watching her stick her tongue out trying to catch some snow. Maybe we'll get enough next time to make baby snow angels?!? : )

Emma Bug

These days, Emma loves baths! And Mommie thinks she is as adorable as ever in her bathrobe!

Mommie made this sweater and hat for Emma. She started them the day she found out she was pregnant.

Grammi gave Emma this cute outfit, which came complete with a built-in bunny in the front pocket -- perfect location for drooling on!

So sleepy.....

Emma's First Christmas

Santa had three stockings to fill this Christmas! And the three Sullivans had a wonderful, quiet Christmas morning together. After brunch at the Polks' house, Nana & Papa John arrived. We had dinner at the Fedotas' to end a wonderful day.

Santa brought Emma three gifts -- because the Wise Men brought Jesus three gifts.

Emma got Daddy a fun kid's book about football written by Tiki and Ronde Barber. Both are looking forward to Emma getting big enough for him to read it to her!

Nana brought lots of fun gifts to her Emma Frances, including a book that holds pictures of Nana & Papa John and this "pink princess" outfit that Daddy thinks is very frou-frou!

Holding her own bottle...for a second!

Family Christmas Eve Service

We were honored to be asked to play Mary, Joseph & Baby Jesus in the Christmas Eve service. Emma filled her role perfectly, watching all the friendly beasts, angels, and shepherds with wide eyes, then falling asleep as if on cue during Away in a Manger.

On Christmas Eve, Cousin Chas came to visit and exchange gifts. He brought along Aunt Teri, Uncle Charlie, and Charlie's mom ("MoMo" to Cousin Chas).

Emma's Baptism

What an incredibly special day for Emma and for her proud parents who were so touched by our wonderful family's and church family's love and support of her. We are blessed to have everyone, especially her Godparents -- Dawn Haynie & Chad Polk, in our lives. Special thanks to Reverend Bob for baptizing Emma. We know she will be raised knowing God's love!

Rev. Bob Winstead with our family.

Emma wore her Great Aunt Marjie's baptismal gown from 1957. We're pretty sure it was made by her great, great grandmother -- Lucy Guilford.

Emma's Godparents and their boys, Ethan and Nate Polk. Nate is our Godson.

Shannon's side of the family.

Patrick's side of the family.

After the service, we had a wonderful lunch at Aunt Sarah & Uncle Gary's (the Fedotas) house. Aunt Marjie & Uncle Bob prepared a delicious meal and Aunt Dawn decorated everything beautifully!
