The "Lost City" of Machu Picchu

Our favorite picture from Machu Picchu . . . This was taken on our first day there by our excellent guide, Miguel. We are at the main entrance to the site, with most of the city behind us. The mountain (or, hill, as the locals call it) is called Huayna Picchu ("little mountain"), while Machu Picchu translates to "big mountain". The sun was very intense up this high, so it made complete sense that Patrick would wear a black, long-sleeved shirt and black cap. (Well, at least Nike gets their logo in the picture, right? Because that's just what you'd expect to see on Machu Picchu!)
